Feature in Advice from the Ocean: Unexpected Careers into Marine Conservation

Created by Leah and Christine Henseler, Advice from the Ocean, comes to help young aspiring conservationists in their pursuit to find their path into marine conservation. The book shows essays from people working in law, art, engineering, literature, medicine, robotics, and so many more fields under the marine conservation umbrella.

Under the section title ‘The Art and Science of Conservation - on Creativity and Storytelling’. I shared my unusual story to show how I got here and the value art, design and creativity can bring to this field. I hope that by doing so I can inspire many creatives to bring their new perspectives into a field that desperately needs effective and innovative ways of engagement and communications.

Find more about their mission on their website and purchase the book on Amazon to read all the inspiring stories out there! 50% of all realties will be donated to different marine conservation organizations.

Marine conservation is so much more than just biology. As such, we want to expose some of the unexpected career paths into marine conservation by compiling peoples’ unique experiences.
